Fees were checked on Acquire.com's own pricing page and its public Trustpilot page in October 2026, and they change. We run AIExchange.club, a competing marketplace, so we are not neutral. We have tried to be fair. This is general information, not legal, tax or financial advice.
Yes, Acquire.com is legitimate. It is an established marketplace for buying and selling SaaS and other startups, and its public reviews are strongly positive. The better question is what it costs you in total and whether it fits your business. This guide covers both.
What Acquire.com is
Acquire.com is an online marketplace where founders list software and startup businesses for sale and buyers send offers. It handles NDAs, letters of intent and escrow, and reviews listings before they go live. If you're new to the deal stages, our guide to the letter of intent explains what a buyer's offer means.
What it costs a seller
| Asking price | Closing fee | Listing fee |
|---|---|---|
| Under $250K | 8% | $25 a month |
| $250K to $1M | 7% | $50 a month |
| Above $1M | 6% | $100 a month |
The closing fee is paid only if you sell. The monthly listing fee runs while you're live, and escrow is free for sellers, according to its pricing page. The page doesn't say how a price exactly at $250K or $1M is treated, so ask before you list near a boundary.
The all-in cost on three sales
This table assumes four months listed, and the 7% tier at exactly $250K and $1M. A longer listing adds the monthly fee again. We have put our own fee beside it, and Acquire.com's percentage is lower than ours.
| Sale price | Acquire.com | AIExchange.club (flat 10%, no listing fee) |
|---|---|---|
| $50,000 | $4,000 + $100 listing = $4,100 (8.2%) | $5,000 |
| $250,000 | $17,500 + $200 = $17,700 (7.1%) | $25,000 |
| $1,000,000 | $70,000 + $200 = $70,200 (7.0%) | $100,000 |
What reviewers say
On Trustpilot, Acquire.com holds about 4.4 stars from roughly 240 reviews, with around 89% five-star and 9% one-star. Reviewers praise the advisors, quick replies and an easy platform. The complaints are of a different kind: some say support was slow, some found the listing requirements demanding (for example, years of profit and loss statements), one said an extra fee was charged when a deal didn't close, and some dislike that buyer plans are annual. These are individual reviewers' experiences, not verified facts, so read them as signals and check anything that matters to you.
On forums, sellers often mention a lot of NDA requests and fewer serious offers. That happens on any open marketplace, and it is worth planning for when you prepare your numbers. Our sale prep checklist covers what serious buyers ask for.
Who it fits, and who should look elsewhere
| Acquire.com fits you if | Look elsewhere if |
|---|---|
| You want the lowest closing percentage | A monthly listing fee on a slow sale worries you |
| You're comfortable running the process yourself | You want a broker alongside you from start to close |
| Your business is software or a startup | You sell content, e-commerce or a service business |
How AIExchange.club is different
We list only AI and SaaS businesses that already make money, so every buyer is looking for exactly that. Listing is free, with no monthly fee while you wait. The flat 10% success fee is paid only when your deal closes, and the deal room, escrow and in-platform contracts are included (see fees and pricing). A broker guides you through the sale. We are newer than Acquire.com, so we don't claim a record we haven't built, and we'd rather you compare the terms yourself. If you'd like to see what other routes cost, read our guide to Flippa alternatives and our Empire Flippers review.
